Announcing Twentieth Annual Volume Publications of New Jersey’s Business Faculty

We are now accepting all submissions through a Qualtrics Survey. Please click on this link.

Although this message has been sent to a number of faculty members with whom we have corresponded in previous years, I would appreciate it if you could share this message with as many of your faculty colleagues as possible.

The Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University announces the compilation of the twentieth annual volume celebrating scholarship in all fields of business published by faculty members within New Jersey.  We invite all faculty members who are affiliated with either a two- or four-year school (or department) of business within New Jersey to submit their research publications that were published in 2020.  Works eligible for this compilation include articles that have appeared in refereed scholarly or practitioner journals in any business discipline as well as scholarly books in business.  We also invite refereed scholarly works that center on pedagogy in business education.  These works can include multiple authorships, provided that at least one author is a member of a college or department of business in New Jersey.  In addition, we also invite doctoral dissertations that have been defended and approved in 2020 by a New Jersey business school or department.  Excluded are self-edited or self-published journals or books.  Conference proceedings are also excluded.

Scholars may submit as many works as they have published in 2020.  We ask that each author include a one-paragraph research translation or abstract for each work that will provide the reader insights on the practical impact that the research has for the business practitioner.

In addition to scholarly publications, we would also like to receive a one-page paper from each two- or four-year school (or department) of business within New Jersey that summarizes an excellent example of a classroom exercise from 2020 underscoring the learning opportunities available to students when classrooms are linked to business organizations.  These submissions should be signed by the department chair or business school dean as appropriate.

As part of this compilation, the Stillman School of Business will award recognition prizes to the top scholarly works and the best teaching ideas that are submitted.  All entries are due by July 15, 2021.  Winners will be announced in November 2021, when the compilation is published.

Requirements for Submissions to the Twentieth Annual Volume of Publications of New Jersey’s Business Faculty

1.  Works eligible for this compilation include articles that have appeared in refereed scholarly or practitioner journals in any business discipline as well as scholarly books in business.  We also invite refereed scholarly works that center on pedagogy in business education.  These works may include multiple authorships, as long as at least one author is employed by an institution with a college or department of business in New Jersey.  Excluded are self-edited or self-published journals or books.  Conference proceedings are also excluded.  Scholars can submit as many works as they have published in 2020

2.  We will also accept abstracts of doctoral dissertations that have been defended and approved in 2020 by a New Jersey business school or department.  These abstracts must be accompanied by a copy of the page from the completed dissertation that documents the school or department’s approval with appropriate signatures.  Authors should also submit a one-paragraph research translation of the dissertation.

3.  In addition to the publications specified above, we would like to receive a one-page paper from each two- or four-year school (or department) of business within New Jersey that summarizes an excellent example of a classroom exercise from 2020 that underscores the learning opportunities available to students when classrooms are linked to business organizations.  These submissions should be signed by the department chair or business school dean as appropriate and sent to the address provided below for published works.  These teaching notes will be highlighted in a separate section of the bibliography and are eligible for a recognition prize.

New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association to Host Annual Honor Society Induction Ceremony

The New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association (NJCBAA) will host its 2019 annual honor society induction ceremony on May 3, at Middlesex County College. Each year, undergraduate students pursuing degrees in business are extended an invitation to join this most prestigious honor society. As a core offering to its members, NJCBAA is proud to be able to recognize the outstanding academic achievements of our young business professionals.

“It is fitting at the end of each academic year to recognize and honor our top one percent Business students from two- and four-year colleges across New Jersey for their scholarly achievements,” said NJCBAA President, Germaine Albuquerque. “The academic accomplishments of our students should warm our hearts and remind us of the excellence we have right here in the Garden State.”

This year is no exception, as over 100 students will join the “omicron” class (15th class) of honorees.

“We are so proud to honor this group of talented students – the top business scholars in the State of New Jersey!” said Joyce Strawser, NJCBAA Honor Society Advisor.  “To the best of our knowledge, New Jersey is the only state in which all business schools unite to recognize and celebrate their top students. This is a wonderful tradition that helps to reinforce our bonds as neighboring institutions and to advance our shared interest in strengthening business education.”

NJCBAA is committed to promoting and supporting students and faculty from New Jersey in the business fields. Not only do they receive an honor, but they have an opportunity to meet and develop relationships with faculty around NJ.
